Fernanda Bywaters Collado
Clinical Psychologist.
She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Santiago de Chile and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Psychology, specialising in Psychoanalytic Theory and Clinical Practice, at Diego Portales University. As part of this programme, she is writing a thesis which examines the concept of temporality in psychoanalytic work with patients with terminal cancer in institutional settings.
She has previously worked on research projects in the field of the Social Studies of Science and Technology (CTS), where she has developed semiotic-material approaches to understanding the configuration of various processes in healthcare. Furthermore, she has also taken part in research focusing on the study of the Ethics of Care and its practices in Chilean school settings.
Her main research interests relate to the social studies of medicine and health. Furthermore, in her clinical practice, she is interested in the study of psychoanalytic temporalities and the ways in which corporeality manifests itself in the clinical setting; primarily in research concerning psychoanalytic work with patients with organic illnesses and psychosomatic phenomena.
