Text patterns
Text patterns are pre-designed combinations of text blocks. Each WordPress theme comes with nine text patterns. Within each pattern, you can change and/or add almost anything you like, including the font, background colour, line-height property, a new column, and so on.
The purpose of a headline is to quickly and briefly draw attention to the story. It is usually written by a copy editor, but may also be written by the writer, the page layout designer or other editors. The most important story on the front page, above the fold, may have a larger headline if the story is of exceptional importance.
A paragraph (from the Ancient Greek παράγραφος, parágraphos, ‘to write beside’) is a self-contained unit of written discourse dealing with a particular point or idea. Although not required by the syntax of any language, paragraphs are usually an expected part of formal writing, used to organise longer prose.

In word processing and desktop publishing, a hard return or paragraph break indicates a new paragraph, as distinct from the soft return at the end of a line within a paragraph. This distinction allows word wrap to automatically re-flow text as it is edited, without losing paragraph breaks.

Edwin Herbert Lewis, rhetorician, novelist and poet, was born in Westerly, Rhode Island, in 1866. He was awarded an A.B. and an A.M. by Alfred University in 1887, a Ph.D. in Latin by Syracuse University in 1892, and in 1894 was awarded the first Ph.D. in English by the University of Chicago.
