“In Honour of Matters of Time” is the title of the new podcast produced as part of the research project, in which we explore the social and technical implications of defining contemporary conceptions of time, with an emphasis on their link to healthcare and medical practice. The programme will feature a range of guests who will engage in discussions on conceptions of time and technology, and their connection to the acceleration and deceleration of routine processes in healthcare.

This programme aims to explore the concept of temporality from both conceptual and practical perspectives, as a heterogeneous and non-linear process. We will therefore be welcoming guests who will help us to approach time as a complex issue that demands dedication, care and attention.

In each episode, we will examine different facets of this concept of time: waiting times, conceptual times, attention spans, technological times, bureaucratic times and subjective times. We shall also consider a range of approaches, drawing on both everyday situations in the political sphere and academic research, whilst gradually shifting our focus towards patients’ experiences.

We invite you to listen to and explore these diverse rhythms with us. Because thinking about Matters of Time in healthcare is not just a technical matter: it is also a matter of care.
